Ground Support Equipment
AMRO Fabricating Corporation has engaged in a variety of GSE projects. From custom transporters to very large design and build access stands. From Vandenberg Launch Pad modifications, to functional testing at Cape Canaveral. From Satellite shipping containers to complete 747 maintenance docks.

We can handle the complete project from design through installation using the latest in technology and backed by years of experience.

Chandra Satellite Integration Fixture

The scope of work on this large tool consisted of designing, fabricating, proof-load, NDT, paint, clean and installation of the vertical integration fixture into a clean room. The Chandra X-ray Observatory was launched by the Space Shuttle Columbia STS-93 on 7/23/99.Chandra is 45 feet long and weighs 52,000 pounds making it the largest and heaviest satellite ever launched on a Space Shuttle.
Delta III Encapsulation Trailer
This project entailed fabricating, machining, proofloading and functional road testing. The challenge was to accomplish the tasks in short time frame. This trailer has a dual-purpose use. It transports the Delta III Second Stage in a vertical position from the assembly and checkout area to the 17B Launch Pad at the Cape. It also transports the Encapsulated Payload (payload attach fitting, payload, & fairing) in a vertical position from the payload processing facility to the 17B Launch Pad.
GEM 46 Handling & Erection Equipment

AMRO provided a family of ground handling equipment designed to process the sold rocket motor at the launch site. We provided storage chocks, segmented handling rings, transportation trailers, lifting beams, handling slings and various attach fittings, all in a compressed delivery schedule. AMRO provided these critical services on schedule to ensure our customer’s mission success.
Satellite Shipping Containers

This particular project required an aluminum bolsa composite panel for the cover and flooring. The base was constructed out of a structural steel weldment that incorporated shock and vibration isolators. Additionally, the container was equipped with desiccant canisters and a venting system for use on a C-5 aircraft.

The overall size of this container 133” x 154” x 339”
